Questionnaire on various methods in German lessons

When/Who/Where:

22.4.2004, after a period of students almost falling asleep on Monday mornings, 21 students of a German class, 12^th form, teacher: Angelika Wollermann, Staatliche Handelsschule mit Wirtschaftsgymnasium “Am Lämmermarkt”, Hamburg

Description:

I handed out the questionnaire with a written introduction describing their state on a Monday morning after a weekend of partying and asking them what would motivate them most, listing various methods and also some space for extra comment. The students filled it in on their own, I collected it, evaluated it and presented the results the next lesson.

Results:

The majority of students favoured group work which I hadn’t expected before and not as many as expected liked creative work, which gave me a good idea to adapt the methods according to the students’ wishes.

Furthermore, the students felt taken seriously and the atmosphere improved.

It was all very much initiated by me, maybe I could have involved the students more in advance by them finding different methods.

Development/Consequences: By taking into account the students’ priorities, they definitely did become more active, which was also furthered by offering them various methods they could choose from. Some students even mentioned to me that they found that they had become more active.

Du hast am Wochenende gefeiert und würdest verständlicherweise lieber ausschlafen, da du kaum die Augen aufbekommst, aber es ist Montag, 1. und 2. Stunde Deutsch Wollermann - Goethes Faust !!!!!!

	Finde ich todlangweilig. bzw. mag ich gar nicht	Hin und wieder bekomme ich etwas mit bzw. mag ich so einigermaßen.	Bringt mir am meisten bzw. habe ich Lust zu.	Eigene Bemerkung:
