OBJECTIVES:
A teacher trainee’s task is to attend professional teacher’s lessons and watch the lesson , both students’ and the teacher’s performance .
The trainee takes notes and fills in the observation sheet. After each lesson the professional teacher’s task is to answer the trainee’s questions concerning the methods and techniques used during the lesson as well as explaining the correlation between the aims of the lesson and their actual performance. The professional teacher has to provide comments and explanation as for their choice of materials, the way of conducting the lesson, etc.
The cooperation contains in sharing the teacher’s experience and giving useful advice to the trainee. Simultaneously the teacher receives feedback from the teacher’s trainee in the form of comments on their own performance. The trainee refers to their observation and notes taken during the lesson.
The detailed mutual analysis of the lesson’s conduct, teacher’s preparation and actual performance as well as students’ involvement and use of teaching aids and class organizing skills give the teacher a thorough picture of effectiveness of their own work.
