The project evaluation carried out at the end of our meetings helped us to develop the SEFES project in a logical way. The photo shows some results of the last meeting in

An additional final SWOT was done to get the feedback also from those participants who could not attend the final meeting (altogether 25 teachers from 5 countries participated in the project during the three years).
We asked for strong and weak points of the project as well as opportunities and threats for the process of establishing a culture of self-evaluation. The results are published in chapter 1. Participating Schools.
Let me try to give a summary of the different SWOTs.
At the beginning we had a vision: We wanted to achieve visible changes at our schools. But how could we manage these changes? It turned out to be an excellent way to do it by means of a Comenius School Development Project. We started a general process and developed the schools on grassroot level. The international atmosphere and ideas of the partners from different countries contributed to a successful process. Highly motivated participants did not complain about the additional work and they did a very good job. This has been very valuable for the development of our schools.
Essential for a long-lasting success of the project is the sustainability of the process. These are our results and suggestions:
- Try to involve as many persons as possible in self-evaluation activities.
- Self-evaluation has to become an essential part of the school`s quality concept.
- Pressure or incentives? The latter is the better one.
- Support of the head is needed.
- Keep the process running, for example by starting another COMENIUS project and involving new persons, thus getting new ideas from new international partners for your school.
